Education and training

The provision of education for Zambian children is generally limited. The government schools cannot cope with the demand and there is a significant role for private initiatives. The challenge is compounded by AIDS related fatalities that have created a million orphan children in a total population of around 12 million. About half these children do not attend school and in rural areas this figure can be over two thirds.
